✅ 3-minute summary — one Short in 30 minutes
1. Topic (5 min): pick a trending topic or a long-form clip
2. Script (10 min): 100–160 chars, hook → body → close
3. Footage (10 min): auto-matched stock + auto-generated captions
4. QA (5 min): run the checklist, ship

Step 1 · Pick a topic (5 min)

"What should I shoot" takes the longest if you start cold. Start from one of two anchors.

  • You have a long-form video → pick a Shorts extraction segment from it
  • You're starting fresh → check rising keywords on Trend Explorer
💡 One topic per Short. Hooks and loops are far easier to design.

Step 2 · Script (10 min)

A 30–60s Short needs 100–160 characters. Conclusion first, evidence after.

  • 1-line hook — a question or a punchy statement (first second)
  • 2–3 body lines — one claim with 1–2 supporting beats
  • 1-line close — an action like "check it now" or "more next time"

Step 3 · Footage (10 min)

OptionWhen to use
Shoot it yourselfWhen you, your product, or the location matters. Phone 9:16, just add light
Repurpose a long videoYou already have footage → reframe to 9:16
Auto-matchNo shoot — assigns stock per scene keywords

Drop a script into Easy Video Builder · Shortform and HD stock fills in per scene automatically.

Step 4 · Captions & BGM (5 min)

A large share of viewers watch with sound off. Captions are required.

  • Captions: auto-generate, then fine-tune timing only
  • BGM: keep a 2–3 song channel preset and rotate
  • Caption font/colors: save once to Channel Rules and apply automatically thereafter

Step 5 · QA checklist

  • [ ] Hook in the first second?
  • [ ] Captions don't block the focus area?
  • [ ] Final 0.5s loops back into the start?
  • [ ] Hashtags: #shorts + 2–3 topic tags?
  • [ ] Posting time aligned with your audience's peak hours?

Three common mistakes

  • Wasting the first second on an intro → drop-off spikes
  • Captions overflow 2 lines → readability tanks
  • BGM masking narration → keep speech regions below -20dB
